If you've ever been around an adorable, friendly service dog, then you know the struggle is real. You're aware the dog is working and you can't pet it, but it's there, being a good dog! Same goes for drug-sniffing canines in airports. I desperately want to touch their big, wet noses, but they might smell the pot I'm smuggling in my down-there. So it goes.
That said, I've never thrown a fit after being denied a dog's attention. The same can't be said for one entitled mother that was recorded ~~freaking out~~ because her daughter couldn't pet several service dogs. ML Leigh is one of the handlers and uploaded the video to Facebook along with some commentary:
Had this crazy experience yesterday at the mall where some lady asked if she could pet the dogs. People ask us all the time so I just said, “no.” All the dogs are working so it’s my go to answer. And they walked away. No big deal right? This lady went out of her way to come back with her child and yell at us for saying “no” and for not saying, “nO iM sOrRy ThEy’Re TrAiNiNg.” And we should “have a sign or something.” You mean the 20 patches on my dog that say don’t pet? Entitlement these days is real. They even got mall security because we said they couldn’t pet the working dogs. Security said that the lady was crying So much harassment for just saying no. This video is public and is shareable. There was no common sense here.

Um, wow.
People were shocked to see someone behave so terribly - and in public, no less - after being told 'no.' Weirdly, her daughter seems unperturbed. I guess she wasn't hellbent on petting those puppers after all.
Fortunately, no service dogs were pet without consent that day. Since her actions have gone viral, maybe this woman will read the comments (not something I'd normally advise) and get a big helping of humility re: her behavior. Something tells me she'll strike again, though. Keep your pups close!
